SHEPHERDSTOWN — Washington swimmers Shawn Gee and Derek Carter had individual success in a quad meet held at Shepherd on Saturday. But it was St. Maria Goretti High from Hagerstown that posted 3-0 records in the boys division and another 3-0 team record in the girls division.
Gee won both the 100 freestyle and the 100 backstroke against swimmers from St. Maria Goretti, Hedgesville, and Martinsburg. Carter also registered a pair of wins, taking first in both the 100 breaststroke and the 500 freestryle.
The Gaels had wins of 53-40 over Washington, 60-25 against Martinsburg, and 58-35 over Hedgesville in the boys division of the quad. St. Maria Goretti posted wins of 68-26 over Washington, 69-24 over Martinsburg, and 69-25 over Hedgesville in the girls division.
Washington didn’t have any wins in the 12 individual or relay events in the girls division.
In the boys division, Washington had a team win over Martinsburg and also lost to Hedgesville.
