SHENANDOAH JUNCTION — Jefferson had its problems with the Musselman wrestlers last Wedneday, dropping a 55-16 verdict to the Applemen in a dual match held at home.
Several matches into the dual, Musselman had an early 9-0 lead when it got a pin at 152 and a 5-1 decision from Danny Arndt against Jefferson’s Shane Moore at 160. Even though the Cougars received a forfeit win at 170 pounds (where Dante’ McCarroll was awarded the six points), the Cougars quickly fell back and could never rally.
Musselman’s next points came at 182 where David Stas provided the Applemen with a 7-0 decision over A. J. Pierson. After successive wins from Brady Estep at 195 and Derek Estep at 220, the Applemen moved the lead to 24-6.
Jefferson’s Lane Harder came through with a pin at 285, but then Musselman ran off four pins and a decision win to take an insurmountable 51-12 lead.
Jefferson’s only other win was posted by John Bryant when he registered a 14-1 major decision .
