Top soup

Trinity Episcopal Church’s chicken corn chowder was voted tops in the “Coming Home Soup Fest” held Nov. 11 as part of the Shepherdstown 250th anniversary celebration’s conclusion. Trinity’s entry won nearly 40 percent of the votes cast for “best soup.” On Saturday, church members who worked on the project accepted an award certificate from Meredith Wait, 250th anniversary chairwoman. Shown on the bottom row are Cathy Baker, who coordinated the soup project for the church, and Wait. Others pictured: Sue Lane and Jenny Hollis (second row); Emily Baker, Bonnie Austin and Mark Hollis (third row); and Bill Simmons (top).
