WINCHESTER, Va. — The unbeaten (3-0) Millbrook Lady Pioneers kept visiting Jefferson winless (0-3) when they defeated the Lady Cougars, 77-34, in a girls basketball game played on Dec. 4.
On Saturday, Jefferson lost a 61-38 verdict to visiting South Charleston High in Shenandoah Junction.
The Black Eagles held a 31-20 lead at the half before exacting a number of steals and causing numerous turnovers in outscoring the Lady Cougars, 12-3, in the third quarter.
South Charleston finished with 29 steals alone.
Sophomore Aryaunna Mosley scored 13 points and had 16 of South Charleston’s 58 rebounds. Freshman Taliah Cashwell had eight points. Senior Laci Jarrell had eight points and seven rebounds while sophomore Alexia Wade had six rebounds and freshman Kenyana Walker had five rebounds.
The Black Eagles committed 17 turnovers.
Jefferson was 0-4.
