Washington evened its early-season girls basketball record at 1-1 with a 59-30 win on its home floor against John Handley High from Winchester. Handley was 1-2 with the loss.
The Patriots, who opened the year with a close loss at Musselman, held a 34-20 lead by halftime.

Dozier closed with 15 points. Jackie Hess finished with 10 points and Doleman chipped in with her nine points.
Washington had 22 more rebounds than the Judges. Dozier led the Patriots with her nine rebounds.
