Jefferson fifth at state cheer event
CHARLESTON — Brooke repeated as the Class AAA cheerleading state winner, besting runner-up Logan by fewer than four points.
Brooke had 347.2 points.
Jefferson finished fifth in the eight-school field. The Cougars had 308.75 points and were behind Riverside and Lewis County as well as the top two squads.
Robert Byrd was the Class AA champion with East Fairmont finishing second. Tug Valley won the Class A crown with Tyler Consolidated finishing second.
