CHARLESTON (AP) — The West Virginia State Police is getting help from the federal government to combat sexual exploitation of children.
The agency has been awarded more than $275,000 from the Department of Justice’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. The funding will be used to help law enforcement investigate and prosecute child sexual exploitation cases.
The agency also will use the grant to upgrade its computer capabilities.
U.S. Senators Jay Rockefeller and Joe Manchin announced the funding Tuesday.
