Washington seniors bask in limelight of win over Berkeley Springs

The six seniors on Washington’s 2012 volleyball roster played the entire match when the Patriots completed the regular season with a 3-0 win over visiting Berkeley Springs.

In winning by game scores of 25-14, 25-19, and 25-6, the Patriots had Emma Bryan get 37 assists and serve five aces and Elizabetha Leinhard get 14 kills.

A third senior, Alycia Lambert, had 10 kills in the first game alone. Michelle Sieminski also hurt the Lady Indians with her kills in that game. Bryan was serving when Washington scored four straight points.

Leinhard’s successful spike ended the second game.

In the third game, Amanda Sosnicki provided eight kills and Amber Curry chipped in with five kills.

The Patriots went into the Class AAA, Region II, Section 1 tournament on Nov. 1 at Musselman needing to win two matches that night to win the event.
