SHEPHERDSTOWN — The Musselman boys outswam Washington and Hedgesville … and the Hedgesville girls outdid Washington and Musselman to both register 2-0 records as those three schools opened their swim seasons on Saturday at the Shepherd University Wellness Center.
Both Washington teams finished with 1-1 records.
The Patriots’ Shawn Gee had wins in both the 200 individual medley and the 100 backstroke as well as swimming a leg on the school’s winning 200 medley relay team and the anchor on the 200 freestyle relay unit. Derek Carson gave the Patriots a win in the 200 freestyle and the 500 freestyle and was a member of winning 200 medley relay team and the 200 freestyle relay as well. Chris Charlebois posted Washington wins in the 50 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke.
In the girl’s division, the Patriots had Mikaela Payne win the 500 freestyle and swim legs on the winning 200 medley relay team and the 400 freestyle relay. Emma Bryan won the 200 freestyle and was a member of the winning 400 freestyle relay unit. Leah Widmeyer had a win in the 100 butterfly and was on the 200 medley relay team. Michaela Browning swam legs on two winning relays — the 200 medley and the 400 freestyle. And Sarah Wersing swam legs on both the 200 medley relay team and the 400 freestyle relay unit.
