Yoga – for a good cause
Many classes at Shepherdstown’s Jala Yoga scheduled for the week of Dec. 10 will be available by donation, with all proceeds going toward holiday help for a struggling local family.
The yoga studio is located at Mellow Moods Cafe and Juice Bar at 117 W. German St.
Another Jala Yoga deal coming up: Morning classes scheduled between Dec. 26 and Jan. 1 are free. “Our gift to the community!” says Kitty Clark.

The Nov. 30 workshop begins at 7 p.m. in the Grace Church Parish Hall at 112 East St. in Middleway. Refreshments will be served.

Carving class
Friday is the deadline to register for next month’s three-session class in beginning woodcarving at Washington Street Artists’ Cooperative.
The class, led by Nancy Streeter, happens from 3 to 5 p.m. Dec. 1, 8 and 15 at the coop at 108 N. George St. in Charles Town. It costs $48, plus a $15 materials fee.
Students will learn carving methods to complete a bear or other project. Students may paint their completed carving in class, too. For details, contact Streeter at nhstreeter@frontiernet.net or go to wstreetgallery.com/classes.
