The Jefferson cheer squad won the Class AAA, Region II tournament last Tuesday in Buckhannon. The team totaled 348.25 points to runner-up Lewis County’s 336.90. Those two schools advanced to the eight-school state event to be held in early December in Charleston. Washington High finished third among the nine schools competing. The Patriots had 288.60 points.
The 16 members of the Jefferson squad are Skylar Waldeck, Danielle Udy, Amanda Stoner, Sidney Showman, Aaliyah Rice, Kyli Maccubbin, Jourden Crokett-Lesuer, Kia Johnson, Kendra Jalbert, Tyler Hooks, Katie Hamilton, Amanda Garcia, Courtney Forshee, Brooke Fadeley, Bailey Dillow, and Kiara Day. The team’s coaches are Destyne Peck, Charlene Bryan, and Colleen Snyder.
