SISSONVILLE (AP) — The Sissonville Volunteer Fire Department has rebounded from a fire that destroyed its headquarters two years ago.
The department is celebrating the opening of its new headquarters.
A state grant and donations across the country helped pay for the project.
Fire chief Tim Gooch tells WCHS-TV that a donation from a young boy kept the firefighters from losing hope.
Gooch says Joshua Shaffer gave $45, his entire savings, to help rebuild the station.
An electrical problem caused the accidental fire at the old station in October 2010.
