When the Lady Mustangs won the MAC league tournament, the Wildwood Middle School varsity volleyball team had completed an unbeaten season.
Not only did Wildwood win all its matches, it did so without losing any games and won every time out by 2-0 scores.
The season started in early September with a 2-0 win over Charles Town. Before September was finished, the Lady Mustangs had also claimed 2-0 wins over Harpers Ferry, Shepherdstown, Moorefield, Charles Town a second time, and East Hardy.
In October, more 2-0 wins were earned against Harpers Ferry, Capon Bridge, Romney, and Shepherdstown.
The Lady Mustang varsity squad was coached this year by Timmy Staubs and the 12-player roster had Kassidy Hoffman, Dymond Lanham, Shelby Kowalski, Jewel Inlow, Taylor Plath, Riley Ward, Camden Powers, Cameron Payne, Lindsay Silveous, Megan Johnston, Madison Chen, and Devan Day. Taylor Gonzalez was the team manager.
The varsity team also competed in the Hilltopper Classic in Clarksburg and finished second in that event.
The MAC championship gave Wildwood the league title for the third consecutive year.
