Grady’s goal helps Patriots in tie with Bulldogs

Washington and Martinsburg played to a 1-1 tie in a girls soccer match.

Even though Martinsburg notched the match’s first goal with Ali Miller scoring on a direct kick, the Patriots got back even at 1-1 when Adrianna Grady scored on an unassisted goal.

There had been no goals scored in the first half.

Washington had more shot-attempts than did the Lady Bulldogs, but neither team scored after Grady’s goal tied it.

The Patriots defeated Musselman, 4-0, with Natalie Adams scoring two goals and both Kayleigh Pierce and Brianna Hester each getting a goal. Washington expanded a 1-0 halftime lead with three second-half scores.

Kylie Nelson was the Patriot goalkeeper in the shutout win.
