Gift from BB&T

Bank executive John Beatty presented a $25,000 check on behalf of the BB&T Charitable Foundation to the Blue Ridge Community and Technical College Foundation. Sherri Janelle, director of the Blue Ridge foundation, said the donation kicks off the naming campaign for the Blue Ridge headquarters building at 13650 Apple Harvest Drive in Martinsburg. The naming campaign allows individuals and businesses to make a commemorative gift and receive the opportunity to name classrooms, labs and other rooms within the new building. The Blue Ridge foundation, established in March, is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit corporation. Every dollar raised assists students attending or planning to attend Blue Ridge, provides funds for the facility, and enhances curriculum. All contributions toward this campaign are tax-deductible and assist the foundation in providing funding to the Blue Ridge community in the form of scholarships and other programs. For more information or to contribute, contact Janelle at 304-260-4380, Ext. 2410.
