CHARLES TOWN — Charles Town are actively investigating a rash of break-ins that have occurred in the downtown Charles Town area since Oct. 8, police say.
According to Charles Town Chief of Police Chris Kutcher both Towne Mart II and Skipper’s Downtown Dips and Deli were broken into on Oct. 8 and an undisclosed amount of monty and items were stolen at each location.
Kutcher said stolen items were recovered from an automobile that was broken into on Oct. 11.
Police are treating another incident that occurred Oct. 8 at Collins Barbers Shop as a destruction of property. In that incident, the front window of the shop was smashed. Kutcher said police are trying to determine if the incident is related to the other break-ins.
