Feral Cat Day: Spay Today officials say National Feral Cat Day on Tuesday is a great time to remind people that Trap–Neuter–Return and other humane programs for feral cats are in the best interest of the cats and the community. Fundraiser for cancer: The third-annual “Bras for a Cause” fundraiser event is being held during the month of October. Tree donations sought: Shepherdstown’s 250th Anniversary Committee is encouraging residents to celebrate the anniversary by donating trees to the town’s historic Elmwood Cemetery. Adopt-a-Family interviews: Jefferson County Community Ministries is interviewing families for the Adopt-a-Family Christmas program. Interviews will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church in Charles Town. Interviews are scheduled for weekdays in October, Mondays: 9 a.m. to noon; Tuesdays: 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.; Wednesdays: 9 a.m. to noon; Thursdays: 9 a.m. to noon and 5 to 8 p.m.; Fridays: 9 a.m. to noon. Families are requested to bring birth certificates for each member of the family, picture ID and proof of Jefferson County residency.
