Anniversary celebration: The Charles Town Presbyterian Church will be celebrating its 225th anniversary Sunday with a number of special programs. At 9:45 a.m., adults are invited to the sanctuary for a special presentation about the church’s history. Children are invited to attend a living history play. There will be one worship service at 11 a.m. when the Rev. Chuck Klotzberger will join Pastor John Bethard with other pastors who have served the congregation as special guests. The church museum will also be open during this time. Following worship, there will be a RSVP-only catered luncheon and a short program. Soup and sandwich sale: The United Methodist Men will be having a soup and sandwich sale at Middleway United Methodist Church Oct. 20 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The group will be selling country ham sandwiches, chicken salad sandwiches and sloppy Joes. Spaghetti dinner: An all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner will be held at New Street United Methodist Church in Shepherdstown Oct. 24 from 5 to 7 p.m. Adults can eat for $7; ages 3 to 12 will be $4. Carry out will be available.
Harvest party: Asbury United Methodist Church in Charles Town will be hosting the annual Fall Harvest Party from 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 28. Call 304-725-5513 or visit myasburychurch.org for details. Feeding students: The Caring Cupboard provides needy Jefferson County schoolchildren with shelf-stable foods on weekends and operates from the back entryway of Shepherdstown Lutheran Church’s parish house.
