Middleway opening Saturday

Construction of the new firehouse for Middleway Volunteer Fire Company has been completed, and a grand opening event is set for Saturday from 1 to 8 p.m. The event will open with all the company’s fire equipment being ceremonially transported to the new station. The event will feature a barbeque, bake sale and “bouncy house” for children who attend as well as demonstrations of the techniques firefighters use on the job. The demonstrations will include a simulation of a house fire, a simulated car extraction and an air medivac demonstration.
