Former Shepherd tight end Dominique Jones will be on the final 53-player roster of Indianapolis Colts when the team opens its National Football League schedule this weekend.

Jones played only one season at Shepherd after transferring from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. After his year with the Rams, Jones played two seasons in minor league football before getting a training camp tryout with the Colts this summer.

The other two tight ends on the Colts’ roster are also rookies.
