A remembrance

Those who lost their lives as a result of the deadly terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, will be honored Tuesday during the annual 9-11 Remembrance ceremony at the Independent Fire Company in Ranson. The ceremony will begin at 9:58 a.m. — immediately after the first of the World Trade Center towers collapsed — and will recognize those killed and injured in that attack, as well as the attack at the Pentagon and the crash of Flight 93 in Shanksville, Pa. The ceremony will include music from the Jefferson High School Cougar Air Force Junior ROTC and the Washington High School Patriot Voices, along with bagpipe music by Joe Kent and a rendition of taps. The Independent Fire station is located at 200 W. 2nd Ave., Ranson. For more information, contact Chaplain Henry Christie at 304-279-9622 or 304-725-9622.
