Rams basketball adds five players

With the opening of the 2012-13 school term at Shepherd, the men’s basketball team has announced that five recruits will join the Rams for the coming season.

Skylar Roman missed his senior year at Chambersburg (Pa.) with a leg injury. The 6-foot guard averaged 16 points a game as a junior. Shepherd Coach Justin Namolik reports that Roman will redshirt this season.

Rob Lawler is a 6-foot-2 guard from Handley High in Winchester. Kevin Jones is a transfer from IUP. The 6-foot-6 forward attended Lackawanna Community College and was at O’Connell High School in Northern Virginia.

Logan Holloman is a transfer from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. The 6-foot-5 forward graduated from Musselman High in Inwood. Austin Cunningham is a 6-foot-2 sophomore guard from Belpre, OH who played last season at Ohio Valley U. in the WVIAC. Cunningham averaged about 16 points a game for the Fighting Scots and was named to the league’s All-Freshman team.
