What a fun day July 26 turned out to be for the Ladies of Sleepy Hollow. The extreme heat and terrific thunderstorm in the morning did not stop the frivolity. The game of the day, “Monkey Scramble,” was introduced to the club by Amy George. She said she played it in Canada during the college days. The game is played by drawing for teams. Each team plays with only one ball and each player has only one chosen club. Players must play in succession. The fun enters when you are putting with a three wood. Nice cold melon salads, cheese and cakes awaited the ladies as they exited the course. The winning team was Therese Pierce and Lynne Wiseman with a 121. Second place went to Jean Cowan, Dot Sager and Maggie Whitehair with a 126. Third place went to Dr. Marneerat and Amy George with a 127. In fourth place was the team Carol Daly, Carole Winckler, and Debbie DeLeonardo with a 129. Fun certificates created by Wendy Lochner, depicting a monkey playing golf, were presented to each player and pictures were taken. An original member of the organization, Nancy Roth, also visited.
