Two Hedgesville golfers carded the lowest rounds as the Eagles (160 strokes) defeated both Washington (173 strokes) and Musselman (205 strokes) in a triangular held at The Woods Resort in Berkeley County.
The medalist was Hedgesville’s Owen Elliott who had a nine-hole score of 37. The Eagles’ Lawson Boggs had a round of 39.
Washington’s Ryan Mumaw (40) was Washington’s low scorer. He was followed by Dylan Mumaw (44), Hunter Hardy (44), and Seth Campbell (45).
Led by the nine-hole round of 38 by Dylan Mumaw and the rounds of 39 from Ryan Mumaw and Robert Fleming, Washington High won a golf tri-match played last Thursday at the Sleepy Hollow course near Charles Town.
Washington’s other three scores were a 44 from Jacob Shuff, a 45 from Patrick Burgess, and a 46 from Tyler Sigler.
Washington’s team score was 160.
Jefferson finished second with a 184 stroke total. The four individual scores that counted for the Cougars came from Bryce Lushbaugh (41), Patrick Glenn (46), Quentin Foust (47), and Zach Johnston (50).
Martinsburg was a distant third with a team trotal of 219. Cory Triplett posted a 47 for the Bulldogs.
