A six-decade stint
Walter Francis Smallwood Jr., who retired this summer after working for the same company for 61 years, was honored at a retirement reception last weekend. The Aug. 12 reception was held at the Shenandoah Junction Ruritan Building. His family organized the event to bring together Smallwood’s former co-workers, friends and relatives to formally congratulate him on his years at the company now known as Amerigas, formerly called Supertane and Columbia Propane. He left the company in June.
