NEWTON (AP) — Roane County police say a head-on collision on Interstate 79 has left four people dead.
The accident happened when two vehicles collided about 4:20 p.m. Saturday in the southbound lanes of I-79 near Newton. The four adults were pronounced dead at the scene.
A Roane County dispatcher tells The Charleston Gazette that authorities are withholding the victims’ names.
State police are investigating the crash and trying to determine the cause.
