W.Va. legislator among injured from storms

CHARLESTON (AP) — A West Virginia state senator is among the injured after summer storms thrashed much of the state.

Senate President Jeff Kessler says Sen. Mark Wills suffered a closed head and internal injuries in a Friday car crash.

Kessler said the violent storm caught the Mercer County Democrat as he drove to Summersville with his daughter and another passenger.

Wills was apparently rear-ended by another vehicle, and his car ended up hitting a bridge abutment.

Kessler said Wills remains in intensive care under observation at Charleston Area Medical Center.
