KEARNEYSVILLE — A celebration to honor Lyle C. Tabb & Sons Inc. and its recent award from the West Virginia Small Business Administration begins here at 7 tonight.
The Tabbs, who have been Jefferson County farmers since 1800s, are the state’s Jeffrey Butland Family-Owned Small Business of the Year for 2012. They formally accepted the award last week at an awards ceremony in Charleston.
Tonight’s reception happens in the conference room of the Jefferson County Public Service Center in Kearneysville. The event, sponsored by the Jefferson County Farm Bureau and West Virginia Small Business Development Center of the Eastern Panhandle, is free and open to the public.
Lyle C. Tabb IV, 35, is part of the fifth generation to work on the family farm. Other family members accepting the SBA award include Lyle C. Tabb III, president; Howard C. Tabb, vice president; Jane M. Tabb, secretary; and Virginia D. Tabb, assistant treasurer.
