Former West Virginia University running back Quincy Wilson is joining the Mountaineer football staff as the assistant director of football operations.
“This is a dream come true for me,” Wilson said. “I’m honored that Coach Holgorsen asked me to come back and serve as the assistant director of football operations for the program. Coming back and working at my alma mater is the right job at the right place at the right time. I’m looking forward to getting started.”
Wilson’s role will be as a liaison between the program and the administration in the areas of compliance, academic support and residence life. He will work with the academic support staff in tracking and counseling student-athletes and also will provide player agent education.
Wilson will be organizing preseason training camp in regard to operations, such as meal schedules, providing security and game officials for practices and scrimmages. He will assist with community relations programs, on-campus recruiting, and with the annual coaches’ clinic.
The 31-year-old Wilson played at WVU from 1999 through 2003 and rushed for 2,608 yards in his career. He has been working as the marketing sales manager for State Industrial Corporation in Cleveland.
