Feeding students: The Caring Cupboard, begun in August to provide needy Jefferson County schoolchildren with shelf-stable foods on weekends, operates from the back entryway of Shepherdstown Lutheran Church’s parish house.

The church is seeking food and monetary donations, which may be dropped off at the Parish House, 110 N. King St., 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday to Thursday or mailed to P.O. Box 2008 Shepherdstown, WV 25443.

Free food for the needy: A free soup kitchen will be held at the Mt. Zion Methodist Church, 305 S. Charles St., every third Saturday of the month from 11 a.m. − 1 p.m.

Bible study: Asbury United Methodist Church will sponsor a six week summer Bible study called the “Half-Hour of Power,” from 8 to 8:30 a.m. every Thursday, beginning June 28, at McDonald’s in Charles Town. For questions, call the church office at 304-725-5513.

Church events: A meeting of the Shenandoah Mountaineers 4-H club will be held at Middleway United Methodist Church on June 20 at 7 p.m. Choir practice will be held June 21 at 7 p.m. For questions, call the church at 304-728-4770.

Revival: House of Prayer Church of God, 501 W. Congress St., Charles Town, will be holding a revival on Thursday starting at 8 p.m. and Friday starting at 6 p.m. The revivalist will be Pastor Kevin West. The Rev. Paul Brown will be host pastor. All are welcome.

Vacation Bible School: Summit Point Baptist Church will be having a Vacation Bible School June 11 to 15 from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. each evening for ages kindergarten through teens. A meal will be served at 5:30 p.m. The theme for the week is Amazing Wonders Aviation – Encountering God’s Awesome Power. Attendees will take off each evening from the worship rally hangar and fly to some of the world’s greatest natural wonders as they encounter an awesome God and His amazing power. The journey continues as they travel to learn about missions under the Northern Lights, create crafts at the Great Barrier Reef, move to music at the Matterhorn, and explore fun recreation at the Grand Canyon. The mission offering will go to the orphans at Naomi’s Village in Kenya.  For questions, call 304-725-0619 or email Pastor Jim Holt at shepherd4u@comcast.net.

Spaghetti dinner: The New Hope Assembly of God Women’s Ministries, 7595 Martinsburg Pike, Shepherdstown, will be hosting a spaghetti dinner on June 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. The menu will include spaghetti, salad, bread and dessert. A love offering will be accepted. For questions, call 304-876-8340.

Book study: Asbury United Methodist Church in Charles Town will be studying Francis Chan’s book ‘Crazy Love’ on Monday nights at 8:30 from June 18 to July 16. For details, call the church office at 304-725-5513 before Monday if you wish to attend so materials can be ordered.

Vacation Bible School: Zion Episcopal Church in Charles Town invites all children to “Operation Overboard” starting June 18 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The program will continue June 19 through June 22 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. each day. For questions, call 725-5315.
