Distinguished Citizen deadline is Friday
CHARLES TOWN – The deadline to nominate a Jefferson County resident as 2012 Distinguished Citizen comes Friday. The honoree will be named June 27.
The award, to be made at the county chamber of commerce’s annual awards dinner, is a joint project of the chamber and the Spirit of Jefferson. The honor dates back more than three decades.
Each year at the banquet, the chamber recognizes member businesses begun in the past year as well as businesses who have expanded or improved services in the preceding 12 months.
Anyone may nominated a business or community leader deserving recognition for his or her contributions to Jefferson County. Nominees need not be members of the chamber.
Before Friday’s midnight deadline, the nominator must submit a letter of 150 words or less explaining why the honor is merited, along with the name and address of the person being nominating and his or her own name and contact information.
The nomination may be faxed (304-728-8307) emailed (firstname.lastname@example.org) or mailed to the chamber (29 Keyes Ferry Road, Charles Town WV 25414). Questions about the award or the nomination process may call the chamber at 304-725-2055.
