CHARLESTON (AP) — A Beckley man has claimed a $1 million Powerball prize.
West Virginia Lottery Director John C. Musgrave says John Robinson is the fifth West Virginian to win a lottery prize of at least $1 million this year.
Robinson’s winning ticket matched five numbers but missed the Powerball for the May 16 drawing. The ticket was purchased at the D-N-J Food Store in Beckley.
Robinson says he didn’t check the ticket until Saturday because his job involves a lot of travel.
He and his wife, Margaret, say they plan to pay off all their debts and prepare for retirement.
