Kevin Pansch announces the baseball matchup between Washington and Petersburg high schools following the dedication ceremony for the school’s new baseball press box on Friday. The building, which has been in use since the beginning of the season, was feted by U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin, who threw out the game’s first pitch. Pansch, who serves as vice president of Washington’s baseball booster club, said the press box was constructed for $7,000 with the help of a number of volunteers, including Larry Sirbaugh, Bucky Chapman and Kevin Weaver. “We are very excited about it,” said Pansch. Booster President Angie Wilt said the building was the result of a lot of good effort. “The entire booster organization really came together and worked hard this year,” she said. “It’s all about the kids.”
