ROMNEY— With a three-run fifth inning and a four-run sixth inning, Washington was able to overcome an early deficit to defeat homestanding Hampshire, 11-2, in a softball game played on Saturday in Hampshire County.
The Patriots even added another four runs in the seventh for good measure.
Devin Williams recorded the pitching win, moving her record to 6-2 as the Patriots improved their overall record to 9-11.
Williams fanned nine
With four RBIs and a 3-for-5 day, the Patriots’ Alycia Lambert was one of the team’s offensive leaders.
Lambert was joined by Christina Collins (3-for-5 with three RBIs), and Aja Matlock, who went 2-for-4 with three RBIs that came on a three-run homer.
