MYRTLE BEACH, SC— On its final day in South Carolina at the Mingo Bay Tournament, the Washington baseball team dropped an 8-2 decision to Georgetown (SC) to finish its six-game stand with a 4-2 record including one forfeit win.
In the Friday, April 13 loss to Georgetown, the Patriots were led at the plate by Drew Hetzel (2-for-3) and Jared Silva (an RBI single) but could never muster much offense on the day.
Washington’s overall 4-2 record left it in fourth place in its 16-team bracket.
The Patriots defeated Martinsburg in a one-run game in their first game back in Jefferson County following the trip to Myrtle Beach.
