CHARLESTON (AP) — The West Virginia Public Service Commission’s staff says the commission should take another look at noise from a wind farm in Mineral County.
The recommendation came in a complaint filed by Keyser resident Richard Braithwaite. He wants the PSC to order Pinnacle Wind Farm owner Edison Mission Group to silence the turbines or turn them off at night.
Braithwaite claims he can’t sleep because of the noise.
Pinnacle says in a March 7 response that the PSC doesn’t have jurisdiction because noise wasn’t a condition of a siting certificate it granted for the wind farm. The company also is testing a muffler system.
The State Journal reports that the PSC’s staff filed a memorandum last week saying the commission should pursue Braithwaite’s complaint.
