One enchanted evening

The 2012 Taste of the Town was held at the Quality Hotel and Conference Center in Harpers Ferry on March 29. Eight local vendors were on hand to showcase their culinary expertise. A silent and live auction was held and a total of $3,000 was raised to support the Shenandoah Scholarship Organization.

“We are always looking for opportunities for scholarships and ways to give back to the public,” Donna Newman-Custer, executive director of the Miss Jefferson County Pageant said. “We appreciate all the local vendors that came out to support our program.”

Veronica Marcus, manager of the Quality Hotel and Vice President of the Shenandoah Scholarship Organization, was thrilled by the turnout. “This is our first year hosting the event. It has been a success. There are more Taste of the Town’s to come that support the Shenandoah Scholarship Organization,” she said.
