SHENANDOAH JUNCTION— In a triangular track and field meet held last week at Jefferson High it was the Cougars winning both the boys and girls divisions of the event.
The Jefferson boys finished the afternoon with 84 points with Musselman scoring 61 points and Washington finishing third with 38 points.
The Jefferson girls totaled 74 points with Washington netting 63 points and Musselman finishing third with 35 points.
In the boys sprints, Jefferson’s Dante Price won the 100-meters and Tyler Lambert won the 200-meters. The Cougars had a win in the 4×100 relay as Price anchored a team of Ashton Lai-Fang, Lambert, and Ashton Hyler.
Warren Gray posted a double win when he was first in both the 110 hurdles and the 300 hurdles.
Washington posted a win in the 4×400 relay.
In the field events, Jefferson had wins in both the discus and the shot put.
The girls division of the meet saw Washington’s Rhonda Rogombe become a three-time winner when she was first in the high jump, 200 meters and 400 meters.
Vivian Ruiz had Washington wins the 1600 meters and the 3200 meters. Rogombe anchored the winning 4×400 relay unit. Jefferson’s Kaitlyn Clark won the pole vault.
The Lady Cougars also posted wins in the long jump and the shot put.
