Egg-citement was the mood for Marcia Robinson (top, clutching her purple egg bucket) and dozens of other youngsters who turned out March 31 for the Jefferson County Parks and Recreation’s annual Easter party at Sam Michaels Park at 235 Sam Michaels Road in Shenandoah Junction. The event, which cost $7, allowed children to enjoy breakfast with the Easter Bunny, put together a craft, sit for a portrait with the main attraction and then head out of doors to hunt for hundreds of prize-filled eggs. The park department is offering a variety of special events next week as students in Jefferson County are out of school for Spring Break. Then on April 14, the parks department holds its free Health and Fitness Expo. For more information or to sign up, call 304-728-3207.
