Brain drains

Brain Games coordinator Judy Malone reviews a list of questions with contestant Bob Fuege, of the team Got Brainz, during Sunday’s Brain Games XV trivia tournament. The contest, which was held at James Rumsey Technical Institute pitted 25 teams against each other in a test of trivia to benefit Literacy Volunteers of the Eastern Panhandle. The Herald-Mail’s team, ‘S Words for $400, Alex,’ beat out the Apollo Civic Theatre’s ACT Smart team for the top spot, while the Spirit of Jefferson’s team, the Spirit Meisters, edged out We Used to Be Dyslexic, But Now We’re KO, of Martinsburg, in a tie-breaking round that saw both teams competing to name as many West Virginia counties as they could in a minute.
