A 30-year old Hagerstown resident entered a plea of guilty on March 22 in U.S. District Court in Martinsburg.
Robert John Summerville III, 30 , of Hagerstown pled guilty in U.S. District Court in Martinsburg to one count of possession of a firearm in Jefferson County, after previously being convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year.
Summerville was convicted on April 17, 2009, of burglary in Tarrant County, Texas; on Feb. 8, 2005, of assault in the second degree in the Circuit Court of Allegany County, Md.; and, on June 15, 2004, of resisting arrest in the Circuit Court of Washington County, Md. Summerville, who is in custody pending sentencing, faces a maximum sentence of 15 years to life imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.
