SHENANDOAH JUNCTION— Jefferson had tennis wins from all its boy’s singles players when it defeated Hedgesville, 6-1. Winning the singles matches were Kyle Polczynski (No. 1), Devin Forman (No. 2), Isaiah Washington, (No. 3), and Isaac Washington (No. 4).
The doubles teams of Washington/Washington (No. 2) and Tyler Offutt/Carlos Nathan (No. 3) also posted wins over the Eagles.
The Cougars blanked visiting Clarke County, 7-0, with Polczynski posting an 8-0 win at No. 1 singles, Forman winning 8-4 at No. 2, Isaiah Washington posting an 8-1 win at No. 3, and Isaac Washington registering an 8-4 win at No. 4.
Polczynski/Forman won by an 8-4 score at No. 1 doubles, The two Washingtons teamed to win at No. 2 by an 8-2 count, and then Offutt/Nathan were 8-5 winners at No. 3.
The Cougars edged visiting Musselman, 4-3, on the courts when singles players Polczynski and Catalino Leon had wins. And the doubles teams of Polczynski/Forman and Leon/Christian Shimer posted wins.
Winning for the Applemen were No. 2 singles player Jordan Butler and No. 4 Kerry Coles. Musselman had a doubles success from Butler/Jordan Butts.
Jefferson lost to James Buchanan, 4-3, in a match with five singles matches and two doubles matches. Grant Strawoet and Garrett Malanko had Rocket wins at No. 1 and No. 2. Jefferson had wins at No. 3 (Isaiah Washington), No. 4 (Isaac Washington), and Catalino Leon (No. 5).
Strawoet/Malanko (No. 1) and Rupert/Hissong (No. 2) had doubles wins for the Rockets.
