Glassford commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant

2nd Lt. Anthony Paul Glassford, Jr.

Graduating from Old Dominion University on Dec. 17, 2012, Anthony Paul Glassford Jr. and his family celebrated his commissioning as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps at Norfolk State University later that day.

Glassford is the son of Sgt. Maj. and Mrs. Anthony P. Glassford Sr. USMC (Ret.), of Frederickburg, Va. and the grandson YNC and Mrs. James C. Glassford, USN (Ret.), of Annandale, Va.

Glassford will report to the US Marine Corps Base in Quantico, Va. on March 8 to attend “The Basic School,” a training program for officers in the Marine Corps.

Glassford has many relatives in Jefferson Co.
