Coach Mike Grant, an assistant coach for the Washington High School football team, was diagnosed with brain cancer in the fall of 2011. Since that time he has been undergoing treatments, and has had two surgeries. Coach Grant has been a part of the Jefferson County youth football community for many years. Members of the WHS football family have come together to hold this benefit for Coach Grant and his family to aid them through this difficult time.
The event will be held on April 14 from 6 − 11 p.m. at the Ranson Civic Center. Tickets are $50 per ticket which will get two people in for dinner and one chance at the cash prizes to be awarded throughout the evening. $6500 in cash prizes will be given out with a grand prize of $2500. Ticket holders do not need to be present to win. There will also be a silent auction, DJ Praz, and a mini cornhole tournament. This is not a kid friendly event due to gambling and the presence of beer.
Donations are welcomed for the silent auctions. One can buy tickets, and drop donations for the silent auction at the following locations:
• The Spirit of Jefferson, 210 N. George St, Charles Town
