‘A good cause’

On March 6, The Rotary Club of Charles Town held a luncheon at Paul’s Restaurant at Oakland Church. Among the highlights was the presentation of a $5,000 check to the J.B. Smith Memorial Golf Tournament. Named in honor of Jeffrey Brenton ‘J.B.’ Smith, the tournament raises funds for community services, school programs, and non-profit organizations. Proceeds go to a charity that best represents the charitable and humanitarian work J. B. Smith, son of Danny and Ann Smith, accomplished during his lifetime. J. B. was killed in an automobile accident Aug. 15, 1998 at the age of 23.
