Too little, too late for Patriot girls

After falling behind homestanding Hedgesville by 14 points at the half, Washington’s girls brought the game back toward them by forcing second-half turnovers.

However, even though the Patriots helped cause 21 Hedgesville turnovers the early Lady Eagle lead was enough to withstand the mistakes. Hedgesville held on for a 57-51 win that improved its record to 14-5 and left the Patriots with 4-15 overall mark.

Washington outscored Hedgesville, 36-28, in the second half.

Alycia Lambert had 16 points, Kenya Dozier 12 points, and Amber Curry 11 points for Washington.
