Shepherd students featured in Feb. exhibit

The work of Shepherd University students earning a bachelor of fine arts from the Department of Contemporary Art and Theater will be highlighted in the “Emerging Artists” exhibition from Feb. 1 to 29, at the Arts Centre in downtown Martinsburg. The exhibit highlights the work of 11 artists ready to pursue careers as studio artists, photographers, art educators, and future gallery workers and owners. The gallery is open Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The artists include James Handback, of Hedgesville; Isabelle Truchon, of Harpers Ferry; Morgan Wisniewski, of Shepherdstown; Sarah Loy, of Rippon; Stephon Hummer, of Martinsburg; Elissa Jerome, of Green Bank; Christine Weirick, of South Charleston; Casey Shaw, of Petersburg; Annie Cropper, of Berryville, Va.; James Graeter, of Potomac, Md.; and Joey Diaz, of New York City.
