Ruritan Club installs new officers and hands out awards
On Dec. 19, 2011, the South Jefferson Ruritan Club held its Christmas dinner meeting at Paul’s Restaurant. After the meal, the Zone 1 governor, Jim Kief, swore in the incoming officers for 2012.
Every year, the South Jefferson Ruritan Club President selects a member of the club who has donated exceptional time and effort to make the clubs fundraising possible.
Ruritan Clubs across the country keep track of money donated to worthwhile causes and hours of time spent in helping with community projects. In the fall, community service reports are filled out and sent to the district governor for grading.
Out of a total of five reports that can be submitted, the South Jefferson Ruritan Club received four gold awards and one bronze award at the District Convention held in Martinsburg on Nov. 12, 2011.
