Robins takes soccer skills to Concord
As a first-team Class AAA all-state soccer player, Kris Robins was able to draw attention to his skills and to the team qualities of the Washington High squad that reached the state finals in Beckley before losing to titleist George Washington.

Robins was selected by the West Virginia High School Soccer Coaches Association as a midfielder on the 19-player, all-state first team.
Washington had a 15-7-2 overall record last season, a mark that included a 5-2 loss in the state finals against George Washington.
During his senior season, Robins scored 19 goals and was credited with 25 assists.
The state championship game against George Washington culminated a four-year career with the Patriots. Robins was a starter all four years at Washington.
Washington was coached to the title game by Kris’s father, Kevin. Kris’s older brother, Matt, is a soccer player at Alderson-Broaddus, an NCAA Division II school in the WVIAC.
On Monday of this week, Kris did the paperwork as required by the NCAA to join Division II Concord of the WVIAC.
Concord is located in Athens, West Virginia and already has former Washington players Cole Cloonan, Cameron Russell, and Ryan Gustavel on the Mountain Lion roster.
Robins has achieved a 3.8 grade point average at Washington and will receive the Promise Scholarship as a part of his financial package to attend Concord.
