Patriot girls snap losing skid against Goretti’s Gaels

HAGERSTOWN— Washington snapped a long losing skid when its girl’s team defeated host St. Maria Goretti, 59-42, on Tuesday, January 24, at the Gael Center on the Oak Hill Drive campus in north Hagerstown.

Washington was 3-12 with the win.

Alycia Lambert led all Washington scorers with 16 points. Lambert had 11 rebounds as the Patriots outrebounded the Gaels by 12. Christina Collins was able to add 12 points and Amber Curry chipped in with nine points.

Washington was able to keep its turnover number down as compared with games during the nine-straight loss problems it had suffered through prior to clipping the Gaels.

Kris Clanise led the Gaels in scoring with 11 points.
